Our trading is based on the Socrates forecast and alerts but, these trades are still made on the forecasts and alerts of the Beta Test for the ‘Trader Level’ service. We were fortunate to receive and help test with the Beta Test because, we attended the November 2016 World Economic Conference (WEC).
This Beta version is still only a static version and a work in progress therefore, basing out trades on that version is not optimum however, on balance it has been very profitable for us and our Paid-for Subscribers since we started trading on January 15, 2015.
Very soon the final Trader Level version will be released. The MA team has been working out the kinks for the translating Assemble to a high level language to be moved to a WEB format which has been an enormous task.
Once all the kinks and bugs have been ironed out, then the full Socrates Trader Level service will be unveiled and it will be mind boggling as this preview shows here. https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/products_services/socrates/sneak-previous-of-trader-level/
Martin Armstrong (MA) has this to say about Socrates and its capability:
“The biggest problem with analysis is that we are all human. Anyone who expects someone to forecast the economy or markets based upon personal view are just out of their mind. Nobody can be consistent for we are all human and make mistakes.
The only possible way forward is to achieve a quantified model that does everything and then will correlate everything to show you the trends. To be a good trader you have to go with the flow and NEVER become married to one position. The key is TIME and how long will such trends prevail.”
The MA goal is to deliver a first class Socrates Artificial Intelligent (AI) computer system that will provide the analysis which is not driven by bias nor by human emotion.
“Eliminate human emotion and you have achieved objectivity.”
Phase I of the final version will provide the Reversals and Timing on everything in the system. Whereas, there have been some bad ticks in some Markets from the Data provider which is not acceptable, MA’s team is also looking to rectify that glitch in feed problem and working on the filters for those errors. Naturally, when you are importing data on everything that moves into Socrates, it is hard to have human interaction to check all entries and glitches every day manually so, a solution had to be found.

Yesterday I attended the Metals Investment Forum here in downtown Vancouver. There were 28 companies, many of them with excellent projects and with solid reserves and cash in the bank. Some of these companies already have created serious upside for investors and they continue to be a very good investment for the long-term.
For my own edification I went to the Forum to listen to my Letterwriter-friends who spoke at various times during the day. Here are some highlights that I agree with [my emphasis]:
Gwenn Preston “Gold looks positive - - Inflation and Deflation are both good for Gold - - [Moving forward] there is still some uncertainty [unknown factors that may occur] - - Investors made a lot of money in the Markets and are ready to move those profits into Physical Gold, ETFs and Equities - - Investing in good mining companies makes sense in the long-term.
Eric Coffin “US$ Index ($USD) right now the position is Short so, it could bounce - - [in order to prove that we were indeed in a Bull resource stock market Eric focussed on the GDX on which we are focussed as well] - - Take some money of the table when you are successful [yes, yes, don’t be greedy you can never go broke taking a profit] - - the mining sector is overdue for discoveries [so true] - - I like stock that make sense NOW - - In the near-term, the wildcard to watch is if the Fed raises rates.
Brien Lundin “I just came from the Money Show in Las Vegas where I spoke to a crowd of about 1,000 serious investors. When I said: Those of you who are invested in gold put up your hand, only about 15% of the investor attendees did put up their hands. So, most investors are not in Gold yet. After my speech many investors came up to me and wanted to know more as to where they should invest” [yes, many investors still not aware of the Turnaround in Gold but, that is changing] - - The Commercial Shorts in Gold are rising - - [with regard US$ down and Gold up and vice versa] Not always a correlation in Gold and the US$ [as Martin Armstrong hast stated “this time the US$ will go up in tandem with Gold”. Brien also realizes that that possibility does exist] - - Silver has confirmed the Gold Bull market [we agree that the Long-term Gold Bull market has resumed subject to the Waterfall spike down to below $1,000. For Long-term investors such a Waterfall spike down should not be a concern however, traders need to be cognizant of such an event].
Brent Cooke “I only own things that I understand [to serious investors who want to invest only in mining companies with good economic projects that can withstand the test of time, Brent Cooke certainly is outstanding and a must follow analyst. Brent educates you on how to read News Releases and how to read and understand Drill Results] - - There are not enough good economic companies to go around - - There is a 40 million Au/oz gap between production and the demand for Gold that has not been filled yet. The demand is higher than the supply and that shortfall has to be replaced with new finds - - [With regard promoting] What is the motivation by someone telling you to buy their stock??? - - The NI43-101 Report only tells you that the Report is correct but, it does not tell you what the value of the Resource is [Brent does analyse the value of a specific project Resource for his subscribers] - - From discovery to production takes close to 10 years therefore, time to do that exceeds the CYCLE [Brent discussed much more in his presentation including, the need to consider Resources versus overall mining Grade and considering the various strip ratios before being able to evaluate the adjusted value of any project’s Resource].
